What she has been Up to ....

Well between taking hubby to the Dr and trying to figure out what is going on with his back I have had little time for much else ..... this week has been crazy for me ... But last weekend I took the time to start painting some of my girls ... it was so fun and relaxing .. anyways here is one completely done ... well the others they are in process and hope to have them ready for Art Unraveled which is in August !! I can't wait !!!

She is Celebrating her birthday !!!

Yes today is my birthday .... I am turning 35 ... and actually i woke up today excited that it was my birthday ... I am not sure why but I have never been one to be fearful of getting older actually I am quite the opposite ... I LOVE it .... each year gets better for me , I love more, learn more and live more .... I wasn't a big fan of my younger years but as I have gotten older my life has gotten better and better ..... and I have soo much to be thankful for ! So I saw this on Carla Sonheim's blog a few days ago and I thought it would be perfect for my bday post ......

If you were going to write down the things you were about at this particular moment or day in time,

what would they be?

So here goes!

• Right now I am about enjoying the summer with my children and trying to slow down a little!
  
• Right now I am about settling into a new house and making it feel like home !
  
• Right now I am about FINALLY reading a good book by James Patterson my favorite author !!! ( i haven't sat down and read a book in over 6 years )
  
• Right now I am about being grateful that my hubby supports everything I do and is my very best friend !
  
• Right now I am about making a new fall line of jewelry so my customers will LOVE it !
  
• Right now I am about making some mixed media artwork and window to the soul Dolls
• Right now I am about enjoying the little things in life instead of worrying about the big things that I have no control over ...
• Right now I am about loving the fact that my 5 yr old and 7 yr old still love to snuggle with me and watch tv at night ! oh and laughing at the fact I still can get them to nap everyday for me !
• Right now I am about organizing organizing organizing ... oh yes and setting a schedule
  
• Right now I am about ENJOYING TURNING 35 and what this year ahead has to offer me!

She is Finally getting settled !

The last week has been pretty crazy for me getting settled in - You always have a thought on how things should go and then they never happen that way - so you improvise -Seems i have been doing a lot of that ! But I am starting to feel normal again ,thanks to this......
it keeps the kids busy and tires them out and allows me a few refreshing minutes to get some sun and relax every day !! and in Arizona who can live without a pool ! and I feel good about how my studio is turning out .... I added some more shelving units above my cabinets and voila alot more room already - and my ikea bookcase works so nicely in holding so much !!!
I also just wanted to say thanks so much for all the wonderful support at the Farm Chicks and thanks again to all the wonderful people I met bloggers, shoppers, and vendors - It was such an honor to meet so many of you - ( I wanted to do a whole post on this , but it might be a few days yet )
anyways, hope you have a wonderful week !! I have posted a few more items on my website too!! I am going to take this summer to just relax and start organizing more and spending some time with the kids by the pool !! I have some ideas spinning in my head but its time to slow down and take it easy for awhile ... I hope you too will find time to enjoy your summer !!!!

She is home ....

well girls ! i am baaacckk ! wow what a long and exciting week it was going to Washington , I still feel somewhat of a zombie today but am trying to find normal in my crazy house that is all packed for me to move (note to self try not to move the same week you drive to washington next time -LOL) i have posted photos on my facebook but will post them on flickr too ! (see sidebar ) So without further ado here are some photos from the trip !!

views from the drive - every bit of the drive was gorgeous even our unexpected finds - and a wierd coincidence that every hotel we stayed in we were in room 207 (with exception of one that gave me 209 and No i did not ask for this room at any of the 3 hotels - wierd huh !!!! or proof positive that i was supposed to be at each hotel ?!!

okay next up ... will be the adventure out with all the blog girls and photos from some other amazing booths that were there !!! The show was a blast but I am still recovering , so give me another week to get everything back to normal around here !!!!

She has 3 more days....

So 3 more days, and i will be packing my rented van to head up to Spokane Washington for the Farm Chicks show ... I am a ball of nervous and excited energy right now, so much too do and so little time ( did i mention my new employee broke and sprained her fingers?? EEEK)... .... so many new faces and SHES i will be meeting and catching up with some I already know .... like these lovely gals Kasey and Jeanne !!! Can't wait to see them !!
I am also now on Facebook and Twitter (see my side bar, I would love to see you there too )so feel free to follow me there on my Adventure ... I am sure i will be popping in to let you know where I am during the trip and some gorgeous photos of peoples booths !!

She follows her heart ...

I wanted to share with you a few things .... despite my house starting to fill with boxes and working all hours of the day preparing for this show... there is still lots going on ..... We did find a new house , yeah , so I will be moving the week i get back from Farm Chicks - WOW , Crazy huh ?! So today I thought I would share a little about me .. Lately I have been reading some great posts and another opening article in WWC from Jo Packman about being an artist and what it takes...and the creative highs and lows .... that really hit home with me ... because she is so right the Highs are usually pretty high and fun but the lows can be really low too (like just wanting to stay on the couch all day and not move ) I have been reflecting alot lately too as I am moving , moving on too new things and being taken in a new direction - I get asked all the time how do you become successful or how do you make your dreams into realities... and I really wish i had an answer like do this , that , and this and there - but unfortunately it doesn't work that way .... so my answer is this "she follows her heart" - I let it lead me forward and guide me and hope that it will guide me in the right direction... and yes sometimes there are pitfalls and heartaches but you keep on trying and pushing and Believing .... You have to work through fear of failure and that people aren't going to like it , ( that is always there for me ) - but somehow you put yourself out there - and hope and pray that people like it - and when they do you are grateful, oh so grateful and blessed for your fans and that people enjoy it and love it - yes she is blessed -

but I wouldn't be where I am without my great support system - my husband is always there (I couldn't do it without him ), my mom is always helping me in anyway she can (always my biggest cheerleader and always in the background ) , my sister n law who is now my Creative Assistant and my awesomely talented cousin, Julie Haymaker Thompson is always pushing me creatively !! See this is a love and passion of mine but it takes lots , and lots of hours - time and effort - and its alot of hard work - but the rewards are amazing and the shes I meet are even better - I feel so very grateful for each and everyone of you .... I have been touched by so many people and thank you for that ... I say that if you follow your heart your dreams too can come true... Mothers Day is Sunday - Can't believe it already May !! SO here is wishing all the wonderful shes out there a wonderful wonderful weekend !
